I am solely responsible for a number of my own individual case files and law suits. As a result of this I am constantly negotiating and liaising with clients, companies and other attorneys face to face and via telephone/ email on a daily basis.
Due to the nature of my current employment I am able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. In my present position I am often overloaded with work and I have learnt the skill of prioritising tasks. Furthermore, I have learnt to multi task and I am extremely flexible and interchangeable between tasks. I have previously successfully handled a large and time-consuming workload due to my organisational skills.
As I am currently working in the Employment Department a great deal of the work I undertake involves drafting and analysing legal contracts and agreements. As a result of this I am good at analysing information and highlighting discrepancies or any issues that require addressing. I consider myself to be meticulous in whatever work I undertake.
I am presently employed by a high profile city Law Firm in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and am due to qualify as a UK Solicitor (Attorney) on 7 September 2010. My areas of expertise include Employment Law, Litigation, Commercial Property, Private Capital and Trusts. However, fashion is (and always has been) where my passion lies.
I am now at a stage where I am ready to commence a career in fashion, which I feel extremely passionate about and wish to pursue for the rest of my working life. My goal is to become a buyer within the fashion industry.
I have more than five years experience of working within the fashion retail sector having worked as a Style Advisor whilst financing my law degree. My most recent position was in 2007 – 2008 when I worked for Karen Millen. My remit during this employment included styling and advising customers on current seasonal trends. I was solely responsible for processing the store’s deliveries, meeting daily sales targets, maintaining high visual merchandising standards and delivering first class customer care. As a result I have a firm understanding of retail systems and how the sector functions.
